Anok Yai — sculpting the body into something almost unreal

Anok Yai delivered one of the night’s most technically striking looks in Ashi Studio.

The green croc-embossed midi dress was all about structure:

  • a rigid, croc-textured surface that gave the garment a lacquered, armor-like quality
  • an inverted strapless neckline, cutting inward to sharply frame the upper body
  • padded hips and a cinched waist, exaggerating proportions into a sculptural hourglass

The skirt flared with control, holding its shape like a molded form rather than flowing fabric.

Analysis: This is couture at its most architectural—less about dressing the body, more about reshaping it entirely.

Kate Hudson — precision disguised as simplicity

Kate Hudson in Khaite made minimalism feel deliberate, not safe.

The gown’s power came from its engineering:

  • a plunge neckline extending to the stomach, secured by a single gold hardware point
  • a built-in cape that extended the silhouette without overwhelming it
  • contrasting textures—sheer stockings, leather gloves—adding quiet complexity

Every line felt clean, but nothing was accidental.

Analysis: True minimalism isn’t basic—it’s precise. This look worked because every element had a purpose.

Teyana Taylor — controlled excess, the Schiaparelli way

Teyana Taylor once again leaned into the surreal drama of Schiaparelli—and it paid off.

The look unfolded in layers:

  • a high-neck, sculpted corset bustier creating a rigid, almost armor-like torso
  • a signature surrealist twist: an embellished bag integrated into the bodice
  • a black velvet skirt densely embroidered with ostrich feathers, micro-sequins, and beadwork

The surface shimmered subtly, never overwhelming, while a sheer tulle stripe at the hips introduced a flash of lightness.

Analysis: This is maximalism with discipline—ornate, yes, but tightly controlled.

Nikki Glaser — refining a signature silhouette

Nikki Glaser in Andrew Kwon kept things classic, but polished.

The “Cinderella blue” gown focused on:

  • a structured bodice with clean lines
  • a soft, voluminous skirt that moved fluidly
  • rich fabric that held color depth under lighting

This is a silhouette the designer has revisited and refined over time—and it shows.
