Attending Milan City Fashion Week for the first time was like stepping into a dream. I’d booked my ticket months in advance, buzzing with excitement at the thought of witnessing an exclusive show featuring emerging international designers. As a group of fashion-obsessed students at Bocconi, we’d found each other through a school forum, and after planning for weeks, we were finally headed to the runway show we’d all been talking about.
We kicked off the evening with dinner at the Emporio Armani restaurant, an experience that set the tone for the night—sleek, chic, and dripping with Milanese elegance. But nothing could have prepared us for the moment we stepped into Palazzo Barozzi, the venue for the event. The place was a masterpiece in itself, with high, frescoed ceilings and intricate gold detailing on the walls, signaling we were about to witness something special.
The lights dimmed, and suddenly, all eyes were on the runway. It was showtime. One after another, designers presented their collections, each more captivating than the last. From avant-garde silhouettes to playful, dreamy children’s dresses, the range of styles was extraordinary. I loved seeing the different house codes shine through—each designer had their own flair, and the creativity on display was electric.
The energy in the room was palpable. Fashion enthusiasts, media, and buyers were all there, creating this buzzing atmosphere that made me feel like I was part of something big. And even though the show lasted 90 minutes and featured collections from about eight designers, time seemed to fly by.
As the final designer took their bow and the applause filled the room, I couldn’t help but feel like I’d just experienced something truly magical. We walked out of the palazzo chatting excitedly, already planning our next fashion week adventure. For a first-timer like me, Milan City Fashion Week had been the perfect introduction to the world of high fashion—and I was hooked.
