Louis Vuitton is bringing two of its most influential creative voices together for its first beauty collaboration between Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière and Creative Director of Cosmetics Dame Pat McGrath. Created to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Louis Vuitton Monogram, the limited-edition La Beauté collection is divided into two contrasting worlds: Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge.

But according to McGrath, the project is not a conventional collaboration. “Nicolas and I have been building looks together backstage at Louis Vuitton for so many years now there is a shorthand between us: a trust and a creative cohesion,” she explained. “The products did not begin with a brief—they began with a feeling. It is not a collaboration in the traditional sense. It is an evolution of our partnership.

The two capsules present contrasting interpretations of the Louis Vuitton woman.

Monogram Dune takes inspiration from desert landscapes and sunlight, featuring soft beige, gold, dusty pink, rose gold, and luminous nude tones. Ghesquière described it as “a poetic, luminous woman—minimal, warm, and expressed through soft beige and nude tones.

Its counterpart, Monogram Infrarouge, embraces a more dramatic identity. Charcoal, plum, deep burgundy, bold reds, and metallic shimmers create what Ghesquière calls “a fearless heroine, defined by intensity, bold reds, and striking contrasts.

Each capsule includes a four-pan eyeshadow palette, satin-finish lipstick, and topper lip balm, allowing the contrasting identities to extend across an entire makeup look.

The collaboration also extends beyond makeup. Louis Vuitton is releasing accompanying lipstick pouches and mini vanity bags, wrapped in specially developed Monogram canvas inspired by each collection. Packaging combines rose gold and matte black, reinforcing the duality between the softer Dune and more intense Infrarouge worlds.

Ultimately, this first collaboration between Ghesquière and McGrath feels like a natural continuation of the creative relationship they have built backstage over the years. Rather than simply translating a runway concept into cosmetics, Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge turn two sides of the Louis Vuitton woman into beauty: one luminous and understated, the other bold and fearless.
