Dove Cameron is rewriting the rules of bridal dressing. For her wedding to Måneskin frontman Damiano David in Tuscany on September 24, the actress stepped away from the traditional white gown and into a custom Giorgio Armani suit. Cameron’s ivory ensemble centred on a sharply tailored, collarless jacket cinched at the waist with a sculptural satin belt, paired with wide-leg trousers and a champagne-toned shirt and tie. The silhouette was undeniably masculine in its references, but the proportions and soft ivory palette kept it distinctly bridal. Satin platform pumps completed the look, while a small bouquet of white calla lilies added a classic romantic touch.

The most dramatic element, however, came from behind. A sweeping floor-length cape extended from the shoulders, functioning almost like a traditional veil or train without compromising the clean lines of the suit. It introduced the ethereal quality normally associated with bridal gowns while allowing Cameron to maintain the commanding silhouette of tailoring.

I particularly like the tension between those two ideas. The suit communicates confidence and control, while the cape brings softness and movement. Rather than trying to make tailoring resemble a dress, Armani allows it to remain tailoring—and then builds the romance around it.

David followed a similarly restrained approach in a champagne-hued suit with a taupe satin scarf. The couple therefore shared a muted, creamy colour palette without looking deliberately coordinated. Cameron’s structured white tailoring contrasted with David’s softer, more relaxed styling, making the pairing feel cohesive without becoming overly matching.

The choice also feels consistent with Cameron’s evolving relationship with fashion. Bridal suiting has increasingly moved beyond the realm of practical alternatives to become a deliberate luxury statement, with celebrities experimenting with blazers, trousers, ties, capes and separates instead of treating the gown as the only definition of bridal glamour.

Cameron’s look demonstrates exactly what makes that shift compelling. The absence of a traditional skirt does not make the outfit any less bridal. In fact, the combination of impeccable tailoring, an elongated cape and an ivory palette creates a different kind of ceremony—one that feels modern, powerful and deeply personal. A wedding gown may be timeless, but Cameron makes a convincing case that the modern bride can define her own silhouette.
